Peter Green, Chief Executive of Healthy Investment, commented “We are pleased to announce that we are now an accredited Living Wage Employer. We recognise the importance of paying all our employees and onsite contractors a level of remuneration which properly reflects the true cost of living and meets their everyday needs. We would encourage other employers to follow suit and adopt the Living Wage as a minimum level for all their staff in appreciation of the work they do. Healthy Investment’s Living Wage accreditation is a reflection of our appreciation to our employees for their hard work and dedication”
Laura Gardiner, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that Healthy Investment has joined the movement of over 7,000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their employees earn enough to live on.
They join thousands of small businesses, as well as household names such as Barclays, Burberry, Everton and Chelsea AFC and many more who recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer and all of them, like Healthy Investment believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
The Living Wage is the only UK recognised pay rate that is based on real living costs and, as such, is set at a higher scale than the Government’s minimum wage levels. It is an independently calculated level and takes into account what people actually need to earn to get by and to truly reflect the cost of living.
